Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, and salt. Add butter using hands, pastry cutter or forks until it looks like coarse meal. Add the buttermilk to the dough
Combine sliced peaches, sugar, salt, cornstarch, cinnamon and nutmeg in a saucepan. Cook on medium heat for 6-8 mins, stirring often till sugar dissolves and peach juice oozes out. Cool before serving.
Smooth cooled peaches into baking pan. Drop dough over peaches, leaving gaps for puffing. Brush with cream or egg wash, sprinkle pecans. Bake.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
Serve Peach Cobbler with crumb topping and vanilla ice cream.
