If you haven’t given up on your new years resolution of losing weight you are in luck!
If you have, jump right in- this is a win-win no matter which road you are on-watching your weight doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice flavor , right?
This stuffed cream cheese is reduced fat but still with great taste and thumbs up for no baking required.
My lovely sister was here, in Los Angeles, this weekend and she wanted finger food for her guests.
The combination of strawberry, cream cheese and chocolate is just one of those combination that is very satisfying and always a crowd pleaser. I knew that this would be the perfect occasion to make this stuffed cream cheese . It flew off the table!
She wanted some more the next day and I happily obliged- purely out of self interest, I wanted some more too!
These heavenly bites are simple, straightforward and fairly easy to put together. You can even make cream cheese and prepare the strawberry, then stuff the day of the event. Feel free to play around with the toppings (coconut flakes, shaved chocolate, crushed cookies).
Thoroughly wash and rinse strawberries.
To be on the safe side slightly cut the bottoms off so that they can sit flat in an upright position
Cut off the top of the strawberries. Use paring knife or melon baller to hollow out a small hole in the center of the strawberries.
Beat or mix together the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and almond extract.
Place into a piping bag with a star tip any tip and pipe into each strawberry
Melt chocolate in a small bowl in the microwave, stirring frequently every 20-30 seconds. So that is doesn’t scorch or burn. It usually takes about 2 minutes.
Spoon chocolate into a plastic bag and cut a small hole in the corner or just use a skewer or tooth pick to drizzle the melted chocolate over the strawberries.
